Senior Accountant
Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will support Aven Hospitality’s corporate accounting function by ensuring accurate financial records, timely close processes, and strong accounting discipline in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role is responsible for executing core accounting activities, maintaining high-quality account reconciliations, and supporting audits and financial reporting in a growing, multi-entity environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and a forward-looking mindset, with the ability to leverage automation and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and insight across accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Accounting & Close Execution
• Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end and year-end close activities
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts with appropriate support and documentation
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger activity in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
Controls, Compliance & Audit Support
• Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Assist with external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to auditor requests
• Identify control gaps or process issues and escalate appropriately
Process Improvement, Systems & AI Enablement
• Support ERP and finance system initiatives, including enhancements and process standardization
• Leverage automation and AI-enabled accounting tools to improve reconciliations, close efficiency, and data quality
• Assist with documentation and continuous improvement of accounting processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with FP&A, Tax, AP, AR, and Operations to support accurate financial reporting
• Provide accounting support for special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred or in progress
• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Experience in a multi-entity or private-equity backed environment preferred
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting automation tools
• Demonstrated interest or experience in AI-enabled accounting tools and process automation
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
